License & Terms of Use

Last updated: 21 June 2026

By installing or using Testaro ("the Extension"), you agree to these License & Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Extension. These terms are between you (or your organisation) and Baytek Software.

1. The Extension

Testaro is an Azure DevOps extension that provides native test management — test cases, suites, runs, reporting, traceability, and exploratory testing — without requiring an Azure Test Plans license. Your test-management content is stored in the Azure DevOps Extension Data Service within your own organisation. Baytek does not operate a database that holds your test content.

2. License grant

Subject to these terms, Baytek grants you a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use the Extension within Azure DevOps organisations you administer, for your internal business purposes.

3. Price

The Extension is provided free of charge. There is no license key, seat count, or subscription. Baytek may offer paid features in future releases; functionality available at the time of your install will continue to be available under these terms for that version.

4. Restrictions

  • No reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembly, except where permitted by law.
  • No redistributing, sublicensing, reselling, or rebranding.
  • No using the Extension to build a competing product.
  • No use in violation of applicable law or Microsoft's Marketplace terms.

5. Your responsibilities

  • You control installation, configuration, and removal in your Azure DevOps organisation.
  • You are responsible for any optional AI provider you enable, including the security of any API keys you provide.
  • You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with applicable law, your internal policies, and Microsoft Azure DevOps terms.

6. Optional third-party AI integrations

The Extension supports optional AI features. With bring-your-own-key, requests go from your browser directly to the AI provider (such as OpenAI or Anthropic) using credentials you supply; your key stays in your browser and is never sent to Baytek. A team may instead enable a company-managed key, held server-side and proxied with per-user caps. Baytek is not responsible for the availability, terms, or privacy practices of those third-party AI services — review and accept their terms before enabling AI.

7. Data and privacy

Use of the Extension is also governed by the Testaro Privacy Policy. Your test data stays inside your own Azure DevOps organisation; Baytek does not sell, rent, or share customer data.

8. Warranty disclaimer

The Extension is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Extension will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will meet all of your specific requirements.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Baytek Software shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or business opportunities arising from your use of the Extension. Because the Extension is provided free of charge, Baytek's total liability for this product shall not exceed USD $50.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it. We may terminate these terms if you materially violate them. On uninstall, configuration and test-management data persisted in your Azure DevOps tenant remains under your control and is removed per Microsoft Extension Data Service policies and your own actions.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, with disputes resolved in the state and federal courts located in California, subject to applicable law.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes are reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
